Opening Title Sequence - Titanic

0:17 - Paramount Pictures and Twentieth Century Fox Present
0:28 - A Lightstorm Entertainment Production
0:43 - Titanic (film title)

Analysis:
The genre of the film doesn't especially need to be highlighted in this opening title sequence because the story of the Titanic was so well known around the world so it was obvious that this film would be a romantic drama. Therefore, in the opening title sequence they have recreated the real footage of friends and families waving goodbye to the people on the boat and they have edited the filming by using an effect to make it look more realistic. The music they have used has a sad tone to it and reflects the storyline of the film. There are only three credits in the opening of this film including the production companies, the independent film production company and the film title. I think that they decided not to credit the actors or any other people involved in the filmmaking to make it seem as if it was a documentary including the real people on the ship. This is effective as it makes the audience feel more attached to the characters as it seems very realistic. The credits fade in and out and are in a plain style font which parallels with the depressing tone of the music.
