Romantic Dramas Target Audience

I used the website www.imdb.com to find out the audiences of romantic dramas and their opinions on romantic films.

The Vow:

As you can see from this graph, the film was rated highest by females under 18 by 7.5. Clearly the film must have been targeted at women as they rated the film the highest overall, however, men still rated the film highly which means that the film was marketed to attract both genders. Additionally, because the ratings for the film don't vary very much between the different ages, the film must have been targeted at an audience of a large age range (13+).

Charlie St. Cloud:

Again I think that this film was targeted at a widely aged audience consisting of males and females. This is because the ratings for the film shown don't vary very much. Overall the film was voted highest by women and the lowest ratings were by men, the highest rating being 7.5 by females under 18 and the lowest being 5.3 by males under 18.

The Holiday:

This film also has very high ratings by both genders and again females generally rate the film higher than males but seeing as there isn't a very large difference, it is clear the film was targeted at both men and women aged 13+.

Conclusion:
Although this research only includes a few romantic dramas, they have all been rated highly and because they are quite modern and recent films, it proves that they are very popular. This also suggests my groups film will have a high chance of being successful.
In addition, the range in the rating by males and females, and their ages isn't very significant. This means that for our film to also be successful, we should target our film at both genders to gain the largest audience possible and produce a large profit.
